HPSUM 6.2 failed to work .
HI ,
Looks like this hpsum command doesn’t work with hpsum-6.X , can you please help . ?thanks
even I use /force:rom , it doesn't work . in log . it says it already up to date . is it supposed to be like that ? weird.
hpsum --s /romonly
/use_location /dat/kickstart/HPSPP/2013.02.0 /logdir /var/tmp
hpsum /slient
/use_location /dat/kickstart/HPSPP/2013.02.0 /logdir /var/tmp
also why hpsum -5.3.0 has /sbin/hpsum with permission 655 ? owner doesn't have permission to execute(this is bad in cfengine script) ?
I installed hpsum-5.3.0 on our server.. it looks good … hpsum /silent /romonly /use_location
/dat/kickstart/HPSPP/2013.02.0 /logdir /var/tmp

Re: HPSUM 6.2 failed to work .
Hi there.... I posted the same issue last week and haven't had any responses yet. I've been using hpsum /silent /romonly for years, but now the latest SPP 2014.02.0 with hpsum 6.2 is broken. I replaced v6.2 with v6.0.1 and now /silent /romonly works with v6.0.
I also check the return code from hpsum in my scripts to see if the updates applied by hpsum require a reboot. Starting with v6.0 the hpsum CLI no longer returns the return codes.
These are clearly bugs in hpsum. I hope that HP fixes both of these problems.
Perhaps you could find my post and click the "me too" button and maybe we can get someone's attention at HP.
