iLo 5 firmware 3.03 Mar 27, '24 - what's new?

I see that a new firmware v 3.03 has been released for iLo 5 , The Upgrade Requirement shows as Recommended, however, the tabs show Enhancements: None and Fixes: None.  So what exactly is new in version 3.03 that would incentivize its application? What is different between version 3.02 and 3.03 -is this an error/omission in documentation?

 iLo5_v303 no enahancements,no fixes?iLo5_v303 no enahancements,no fixes?

Sadly, neither of your links provide any detail as to WHAT is so special about 3.03 and what has been changed.

Version: 3.03 (27 Mar 2024) Enhancements

None.

Fixes

Upgrade Requirement:
Recommended - HPE recommends users update to this version at their earliest convenience.

None

As you can see, these release notes are so detailed it could be SONY.

Still no fix for the SNMP reporting garbage temperatures in complete disagreement with the ILO display and/or Redfish. (Some people do not actually believe in HTTP for everything and would rather stick to known working tools. Much to the chagrin of the new hotness.)

Looks like the Fixes for 3.03 were eventually added to the download page; not sure when that happened:

Fixed incorrect messaging when FW update failed with BundleUpdateComponent download failure
Fixed bundle update status reporting when Component download fails after all retries done.

BUT FYI there is now a newer version 3.04 released April 19th available with the following:

3.04 Enhancements:
1. Support for TLS v1.3
2. Support for consistent URIs (indexes) under Ethernet interfaces for systems in Gen 10 servers at all times.
3. Ability to switch from DHCP6 to static IPv6 address for the same IP address.

3.04 Fixes:
1. Fixed an issue where there was a communication loss between HPE Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 331FLR adapter and HPE iLO 5.
2. Fixed an issue of invalid values for SNMP OIDs during SNMPWALK.
3. Fixed an issue where SMBIOS data file present in NAND is removed and recreated every time a server reboots.
4. Fixed an issue where the IPMI power supply status showed a failure detected in empty bays on Apollo servers.
5. Fixed an issue where while entering an incorrect HPE iLO password on a server in Edgeline EL8000t chassis displayed an improper error message.
6. Fixed an issue where physical drive status was reported incorrectly in SNMP.

Just installed it on an ILO that has this Re: ILO 5 shows health and storage degraded but th... - Hewlett Packard Enterprise Community (hpe.com)  issue. No change. Server health is still degraded because of storage but nowhere in ILO any issue regarding storage is really shown. This bug was introduced after version 3.00. Support wants me to update all other firmwares....

I am inclined to suggest downgrading to a 2.xx and never upgrading it again for the life of the machine.

That and tell support that their fix is no fix, please try again when you have actually fixed something.

I upgraded my home toy (ml30 gen10) hoping for the SNMP to stop lying about temperatures and giving completely different answers to the ILO web interface//redfish. I was mistaken. I have to wonder, does anyone really want redfish at all...
