ilo Password reset
Hallo zusammen,
Was muss ich dafür unternehmen?

Hello everyone,
I bought a used ML350 Gen10 server. Unfortunately, the seller doesn't know the ILO5 administrator password.
However, I want to reset it to the password printed on the ILO Information tab.
What do I need to do?

Re: ilo Password reset
Hello @wofis1971,
These are the exact verified steps. Read it carefully and follow accordingly:
Many Gen10 servers have a physical iLO Security Override switch/jumper on the system board that causes iLO to reset to factory defaults (including the Administrator account password printed on the iLO tag).
Steps:
Shut down the OS cleanly and power off the server.
Disconnect all power cords from the server and unplug network cables (especially iLO network).
Remove the server access panel / cover so you can access the system board.
Locate the iLO Security Override switch/jumper on the system board.
It’s usually a small two-position switch or jumper labeled something like iLO Security Override, iLO Clear, or referenced in the service manual. (If you’re unsure, consult the ML350 Gen10 Service Manual for the exact location.)
Document the current position (take a photo). Move the switch to the Override/Clear position.
Reconnect power cords (network can remain disconnected) and power on the server.
Wait ~30–60 seconds for iLO to initialize and apply the override.
Log into iLO using the server’s iLO IP (or via DHCP client list) and the default Administrator password printed on the iLO Information tag.
Immediately change the Administrator password to a strong password and secure any other settings (network, users).
Power off the server again, move the iLO switch back to its original position, close the cover, reconnect network and power, and boot the server normally.
iLO should now accept the default printed password and you’ll regain admin access. After you confirm access, update iLO firmware and change default credentials.
Do let me know if that helps or not:

Re: ilo Password reset
Hi @wofis1971 ,
By using the iLO security override switch (S1), you can reset the iLO 5 administrator password on your ML350 Gen10 to the factory default printed on the iLO Information tab, allowing you to regain access.
Here is the step-by-step procedure:
1. Power Down the Server
2. Open the Server Chassis
3. Locate the System Maintenance Switch
4. Identify and Set Switch S1
5. Power On the Server
6. Power Down and Restore Switch
7. Reassemble and Boot
8. Log in to iLO 5
Use a browser to access the iLO IP address.
Login credentials:
Username: Administrator
Password: The one printed on your iLO Information tab (sometimes a pull-out tag or white sticker on the chassis).

Greeshma
