Increase Drive Space on Proliant ML350 G6
I have a Proliant ML350 G6 server that is running out of space. It has room for 6 hard drives but only has 3. It currently has 3 - 250GB Sata 3.5-inch LFF, hot-plug drives. Am I able to add three more larger drives or do I have to go with 250GB? Can I replace the 3 with new larger ones in addition to the 3 new? Say add 6 1 TB drives - not sure of the maximum storage configuration. I believe it's set to Raid 5 configuration. I am definiately no expert and appreciate any advice or help on the issue.
I'm thinking about just adding 3 -2TB drives and creating a new array. I'm still not sure though if this will allow me to extend my partition. I haven't dealt much with Raid configuration, this is just me researching on how to expand an array.
I have confirmed we are running Raid 5, Smart Array P410i.
