Install Server 2016 on Proliant DL380 Gen5?

Dear,

As my subject line says. Would you recommend this? I am just beginning to learn about servers and the charity organisation where I work has been given these server with the intention that it should work. To me it seems as an old machine but as far as I can see it does meet the system requirements for MS new server to be installed. At the moment it has Server 2003 installed.

I mean do you think this server would be able to handle a new server software? We are also thinking of using SSD hard drives to it, just to speed things up.
