Issues Installing an OS on DL160 Gen 10

DL160 Gen 10

ILO 2.42

Intelligent Provisioning 3.62.7

firmware 4.1.4

I am having issues doing just about anything on this HP Server

This was purhcased new, I attempted to install an ISO file of windows 2019 Standard, it was ripped from the CD HP sent me. During the install proccess it tells me that Windows Setup cannot locate the privacy info. I check the forums, and it states that I might need to update firmware\IP. I attempt to do this and even though the Firmware updates are being applied, IP doesn't seem to think so and it asks me to update this myself. I thought about createing a bootable media and trying it manually, however I can't seem to find the Storage array. I did download the correct drivers, however windows setup still cannot detect that I have drivers on my USB. I created a bootable IP media to try to reinstall IP since it clearly is malfunctioning, however it told me that it "cannot connect to ILO". There are only two things I haven't done, (correct me if I am wrong),

I also forgot to mention that I also tried multiple Server 2019 Evaluation ISOs.

1. Try installing through IP with the CD (I am buying a USB CD drive tomorrow to do so)

2. Send the server back

Re: Issues Installing an OS on DL160 Gen 10

Hi,

use RUFUS https://rufus.ie/ to generate a Bootable USB Stick with the Windows 2019 ISO Image.

If Windows Setup did not find the Disk (Controller) Download and Extract this:

Software Details - HPE Smart Array S100i SR Gen10 SW RAID Driver for Windows Server 2016 and Windows Server 2019 | HPE Support

Software Details - HPE Smart Array Gen10 and Gen10Plus Controller Driver for Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server 2022 | HPE Support

Put the extracted on a USB Stick and use "add Driver" during Setup.
