Keeping DL360 and Dl380 G8s up to date with ESXi.

Hi there,

I'm looking to understand the best way to keep my DL360 and DL380/5 G8s up to date with the latest VMware ESXi possible.

My idea is that I can install the last compatible HPE Custom ESXi (6.5b) onto my hosts and then use the subsequent 'vanilla' ESXi installs as updates.

This way the host will retain the HPE specific drivers from the custom HPE ESXi.

Is this correct?

Hi Alex,

You are correct with the plan to keep the ESXi host updated with the latest esxi OS and subsequent patches.

Though you might want to check with the patches and updates from VMware as some of them will have drivers which needs to be verified.
