Loading Windows NT Terminal Server Edition on an ML370
Hi,
I'm trying to load TSE on a new ML370,G3. The H-P SmartStart 6.0 software doesn't list TSE or allow the
TSE setup disk to be used to load the op/sys in the automated setup.
If I try to do the Microsoft install from the TSE CD, it can't find the SCSI driver ("no boot device found").
I tryed making a driver diskette from the drivers on the H-P CD. When I reboot and the TSE setup stops at the "Specifiy additional devices" screen, I load the driver from the floppy, but Setup still can't find a boot device.
Anyone have any ideas?
thanx,
joel

Re: Loading Windows NT Terminal Server Edition on an ML370
You can try loading TSE from the ROM Based Setup Utility (RBSU = F9 at boot). Then choose "other O/S". When you get to the selection for the SCSI Controler.. use the drivers from http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/20_4307.html#72 . I hope this helps!

Re: Loading Windows NT Terminal Server Edition on an ML370
hi again,
I changed the op/sys to "other" in RBSU. The choices given by SmartStart are then .NET and W2K.
Still can't get the SCSI driver to work in the stock TSE CD install, even though it shows as loaded...
oh well,
thanx,
joel

Re: Loading Windows NT Terminal Server Edition on an ML370
hi all,
Found the answer by searching through tha archives. Had to use the mystery F6 boot trick to load the SCSI driver. Do a search on the forums for "F6" and "Setup" (without the quotes) and you'll get a lot of hits on loading drivers during Setup.
