ML-110 G6 Slow loading SBS 2008 R2
Hi,
We have a customer ML-110 G6 X3430 2.4 GHz CPU, 8 GB RAM, Smart Array P212 SATA Controller, 2 X 250 GB RAID 1 & 2 X 500GB RAID 1 disks.
From the time you logon with the admin it until the desktop appears and the machine becomes usable it takes approximately 20 minutes or more sometimes.
There is also another Proliant ML-110 G5 I think at another customer site and this is also slow but not as slow as this one.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this slowness, all of the other servers are Dell servers and these appear to be relatively fast in comparison.
If anyone has any ideas or pointers, this would be appreciated.
Once the initial start up, it appears to be reasonable performance.
Thanks

Re: ML-110 G6 Slow loading SBS 2008 R2
so it takes a long time after you log on with your user credentials into Windows?
Why are you logging on to a server?
If you suspect it's hardware related maybe try updating drivers?
Patch windows?
Bloated installation?
On clients I have seen the log on being slow when the profile is very big and/or the profile is on the network.
