ML110 G7 Centos 7 possible?
I've got a new in box ML110 G7 that I'm going to set up for home use and I'm considering Centos 7. Centos 6 has drivers on the HPE website for the storage array (RHEL 6 driver disk) but I'm wondering if the 2020 end of life of Centos 6 will be an issue since it will be internet facing for a Owndrive instance.
Anyone have any experience setting this up with HPE drivers for the array versus just flat disks? I'd appreciate any experience you all have.

Re: ML110 G7 Centos 7 possible?
Hi,
Please refer to HPE Servers Support & Certification Matrices.
CentOS 7, is suitable for Gen8 and above generations.
RHEL7 is not compatible with this server.

Re: ML110 G7 Centos 7 possible?
Thanks for the response. I know it's not officially supported, but neither is this server at all anymore, yet I have a new in box one I want to run for personal use so I'm wondering if anyone has experimented with RHEL7 or Centos 7 on this machine and what their results were.
Thanks!

Re: ML110 G7 Centos 7 possible?
If you put the embedded SATA controller in SATA mode instead of RAID mode you will probably be OK. The 'hpvsa' driver for the controller in B120i RAID mode appears to be only available up to RHEL 7.3

Re: ML110 G7 Centos 7 possible?
I wonder if the B120 raid and hpvsa driver vs software sata raid would have much IO throughput difference? Guess I can give it a test when I start to play with it.
Looks like there is possible support up to RHEL 7.4 https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_fc9cb2b56d854a7aacc6a9c0b5#tab2

The B120i is software RAID. The RAID function is all done in the hpvsa driver.
