ml30 gen9 uefi integrated System test page fault

Hi,

I have a new ML30 gen9 with a single 4gb dimm and a single 1TB drive.

Before installing the os I gone with the Intelligent Provisioning diagnostic and the UEFI integrated System tests to be sure that every component was OK.

The IP Diagnostic was reporting a RAM issue so I opened a case with HPE and after an update of IP and bios, the IL reports no errors (this was an issue with older IL version already reported as bulletin), but...

...when I try the UEFI integrated System Test (that test all components in a single run) that crash reporting a page fault with memory dump (simply red characters on black background), but If I test, always with the UEFI diagnostic, every single components (memory, disk, CPU, board) it reports all is OK.

Is there someone with similar issue with the UEFI integrated diagnostic??

Hi again :)

I found a very strange behavior.

In UEFI embedded diagnostic, if I launch "Components Tests"/"Processor" and ONLY THEN "System Tests" all is functioning properly and all system tests (fast/quick/extensive) reports OK (no x64 page fault dump nor other errors).

I have not tried if is Processor test the only acting in this mode, but with this sequence all is OK.

The UEFI Diagnostic version is 6.2.0.0 - USB

Is there someone that can confirm this (strange and bugged)  behavior??

nothing to do...

it crash with x64 page fault also with the trick of previous post.

Odd behavior as the intelligent provisioning insigth diagnostic reports all is ok.

Hi!

For every user with a ML30 gen9....

After several call with hpe support, they authorized change of the M/B and DIMM module, but the issue was here again.

So they authorized a DOA substitution. With the new ML30 the issue is here AGAIN (!!!).

So it is a model specific issue due to a bios bug, definitely not a damaged part issue.

I hope this info can be helpful to other ml30 owner.
