ML350 G3 rack conversion

I want to convert my ML350 G3 server to a rack configuration. I want to get it into a standard unthreaded round hole rack cabinet. I need the tower-to-rack conversion kit and round hole compatible rails. What part numbers would I be looking for? I know a lot of HP/Compaq rails are made for square hole racks, but I've seen other round hole kits.

It would be nice if there were 2 rail kits for all HP/Compaq servers. Round hole & square hole.

I've also got a DL380 & a DL580 that I've been trying to rack for ages, but I can't find round hole rails.

If you need to rack on two post rack like CPI or APC cabinet, look at Racksolutions web site:

http://www.racksolutions.com

They have kits for HP specific servers and HP recommend them.

Does that kit include the rails as well, or just parts for converting the tower?

Also, a slight tangent from the thread topic, but would the Generation 2 rails for the DL580 and DL380 work for the G1 versions of each respectively? Something like 232795-001 (DL380) & 287528-B21 (DL580)?

This is actually the correct option part 290683-B21, which includes everthing you need for conversion to rack.

I think I got those part #s partly wrong. 228894-B21 and/or 232795-001 for DL380G2 & 287528-B21 for the DL580G2. If those will work for round hole racks & they'll fit on the G1 servers, I'd be set.

Hi Alexsha,

The DL 380 G1 is a different design than the Dl 380 G2 and the Mounting kit for rack model is part 327310-001(DL 380 G1, therefore G2 part will not work. As far as DL 580 G1, again different design and part for Rack Mount Kit should be 134699-001. In conclusion the G2 parts are not the same part as the G1.
