ML350 G5 207-Invalid Memory configuration

Situation:

Server comes with 1 512 med DIMM and boots just fine, I take DIMM out put in 2 identical 1 gig DIMMs and I get 207-Invalid Memory configuration. It shows in POST that there is 2048 RAM but still errors and halts. I take out one of the DIMMs and it boots just fine. I have tried 8 different sets of new RAM using both 1 gig sticks and 512 meg stick and this and 2 other servers will only boot with just one stick, all other times it gives the 207 error.

Any ideas?

"FBDIMMs must be installed in pairs within a bank, except in single-FBDIMM mode, which supports a single 512-MB FBDIMM installed in slot 1A. A bank must be populated with two FBDIMMs with identical HP part numbers. "

the spare part has to be 416471-001

just in case check if your using Bank A to put both DIMMs

Bank A -> 1A and 5A

Kindly go through the attached doc for memory configuration for ML350 G5.

Memory PN used in ML350 G5 are:

FBDIMM, registered DDR2, 512 GB 416470-001
FBDIMM, registered DDR2, 1 GB* 416471-001
FBDIMM, registered DDR2, 2 GB* 416472-001
FBDIMM, registered DDR2, 4 GB* (only supported on servers with Intel Xeon 53xx processors) 416473-001

The first memory module should be put in the bottom slot (1), the second module should be put in the 5th slot (in a 8 slot machine). Contrary to What Other computer manufacturers do, HP requires the dual memory modules to be set up as the following.
1-5
2-6
3-7
4-8
