I have 2 drive cages. Let's call them box 1 and box 2. I had the original SAS drive with the OS installed in box 2, slot 1. I had my HDDs installed in box 2 slots 3-8. I installed the new SSD into box 1, slot 1. The USB drive was installed onto the bottom USB port on the front of the server. From the error messages I see, I'm gathering that this is considered Box 1, slot 9, but not too sure.
So, installed the new SSD in the slot, went into my windows based app for HPE SSA, and added the new SSD into it's own array...BUT I created this array on the same controller (P840) as everything else in box 2. Here's the error message I get in SSA:

Here's the error message I get when booting up:

I've researched yesterday in more detail and found that this might have happened because I created the array using the windows app, which was a more updated version than the one running through the BIOS. I've attempted to update SSA by booting from an ISO on a USB drive, but that didn't work (but I think there was something wrong with the ISO on the drive). I kept getting this error message when booting:

Now, this could also have happened because I mixed both SSD and HDD on the same controller maybe? I'd like to get into the system to be able to at least delete the array that the new SSD is on and see if the original HDDs (with data) get recognized. Currently, it seems like the computer knows the drives are there (2nd photo taken during boot process shows that 3 logical drives are recognized...this would be the old boot drive (SAS), new boot drive (SSD), and the group of HDDs). I also stumbled upon this screen when I accidentally pressed the UID button yesterday:

I don't know what Bay 9, Box 1; and Bay 17, Box 1 is referring to.
I've attempted to install Intelligent Provisioning by booting from an ISO on a USB drive. I used Rufus to create the bootable USB and I got a couple error messages about files not being updated, but proceeded anyway. Here's the screen I received when attempting to boot from the USB:

Did I download a Linux version of IP? I'm not certain what the problem is. I'm running Windows 10 Pro, if it makes a difference.
Is intelligent Provisioning the right thing to attempt to install?
I've also been told that there's a way to go into the system and remove arrays without using HPE SSA. I'm wondering if I can do that, then remove the new array I created with the SSD in it, if that will make the system go back to normal.
Any and all help will be appreciated!

Dear mxpxillini35
as per given sceenario there is issue with array which you earlier configured. Please help more to know actual sceenario. how many SAS disk priviously installed on which bay? how many SSD you have install in which bay? how you configure array(If possible tell us step by step).? are removed earlier installed SAS HDD and re installed it? if yes, then are you installed HDD properly on earlier bay or mixxed it up?
Thanks & Regards...

SolutionThis has been fixed.
I was having trouble booting from a usb drive with a iso. I utilized the HPE utility to create a usb boot drive with the new array tools update on it that allowed me to get into SSA and delete the array that had the new ssd drive on it. After that, all was well.
