ML350 loses raid driver

Hello everyone,

one of my customers have a ML350 GEN9 E5-2609V4 server with two hard disk in raid 1 and Windows 2012 Server R2 standard as a driver. Sometimes, in a very random way actually, on shutdown the server loses the raid driver and so Windows Server can't start properly. As a workaround I found that when it reboots and shows Windows Server repair utility, I can go for the command prompt and reload manually the raid driver (hpsa3.inf) with drvload.

Any suggestion how can I fix this problem in a definitive way?

Thanks for your attention,

Sergio.

Re: ML350 loses raid driver

Hello SergioAK,

Thank you for posting your query on HPE Community.

As mentioned that after shutdown, the RAID Controller loses the driver and you have to install it manually using CMD prompt.

Now I am not sure which controller is in use and what fw and driver version is used on the server. Looking at the details shared in your post I assume it is B140i Controller.

If possible, could you please share the following information with us -

1. BIOS version?

2. Controller information (Controller details, Firmware and Driver version) ?

3. Check IML logs for any HW Critical entries?

4. What is the link you are using to inject the driver manually?

5. AHS logs if possible (For last 7 days time)?

Thank you
