Re: Query: Power daughter board (Backplane) HP DL580 gen9
Hi,
thanks for your return but you didn't answer to my question. You give me the specs of the serveur DL580 gen9, but is not what i 'm looking for... I want someone who know the 10 pin connector :
I know about the 8 pin (with the picture below), i see the specs : Fine !
1)° But for the 10 pin on the daughter board, i don't know. So my question : where are the Gnd and the + 12 V please ?
2°) Can we say that this Backplane is the same between a DL380 Gen8, Gen9, DL580 Gen7, Gen8 and Gen9 ?
Thanks a lot

Re: Query: Power daughter board (Backplane) HP DL580 gen9
Hi,
Please refer :
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-c05054253#N10096
and
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=c04683220&docLocale=en_US&page=GUID-AE31416B-DBB9-4987-8410-1E8B5C22C3EF.html
Check for the Daugher Board, we see that the Power supply backplane assembly - Includes the power supply backplane board and daughter (connector) board - Mounts on the rear of the power supply cage
Thank you

Re: Query: Power daughter board (Backplane) HP DL580 gen9
Hi,
with perseverance, i found informations on the forum and on the internet. I recreated a schema with the informations i found:
- A (10 pin of the daughter board)
- B (10 pin DL580 gen7 connector)
- C (10 pin DL380 gen8 connector)
It's safe to say that these connectors (B and C is equal to A) are exactly the same. So therefore for the DL580 gen9 will also be the same (unless someone on the forum claims otherwise...). That's a good thing and that answers my first question and my second question...
Now i show you the cable (10 pin to 2 x 8 pin) i'm going to plug into the connectors A :
Can you tell me if the cable (at the level of 10 pin cable) can run without problem ?
Thanks
Najib

Re: Query: Power daughter board (Backplane) HP DL580 gen9
Hi @akeena64,
Thank you for sharing.
Referred few links and see that the 10 Pin connector specifications would be same.
There are few replacement videos but they are unavailable at the moment to check if we can get any hints.

Try to check the Cable Part number and if they are part of the Assembly Kit, if yes it should work without any issues.
Would request you to log a Case with HPE to assist further as it may needs to be checked physically.
Thank you

Re: Query: Power daughter board (Backplane) HP DL580 gen9
Hi ksram,
thanks a lot for your return.
I took one of my pictures from your link : https://community.hpe.com/t5/proliant-servers-ml-dl-sl/pinout-for-dl580-10pin-pcie-power-cable/m-p/6992314#M160311
The others links are unavailable for the moment...
The part number of the cable is : 631660-B21
But when i search in Internet, with the same part number, i find a lot of cables but all different... So, i don't know which is the real and right cable !
I give you pictures of the cable i bought :
What I want to understand is how it can work when you plug a +12V into a +3.3V ??? Or is it an error on the cable ? Perhaps, the + 12V is badly placed ???
See the pictures below please :
Thanks for your explanation (if you can...).
