Problem with HP Smart Array P410i and SAS Expander Card it shows error 1746 - Unsupported Storage

I have an HP Server G7 and when installing a SAS Expander card it shows error 1746 - Unsupported Storage Connection Detected - SAS connection via expander is not supported on this controller model Access to all storage has been disable.

Please include the server model and generationwhen reporting issues as features vary. You can do a Google search on "Proliant XXXXX GX Quickspecs" and read the Quickspecs for your system. Supported expansion options are usually listed near the back.

Did you check the firmware of the controller and expander?

hi,

Check the following things:

The FW of the controller and SAS expander should be up to date.

The SAS expander requires a minimum of 256MB cache on the P410i controller.
