Proliant DL120 G7 and Windows 2016 red disk lights

Hi All,

I have a proliant DL120 G7 with two arrays. Array 1 is 2 x 1TB drives and Array 2 is 2 x 4TB drives. The raid card is the B110i

All the drives and arrays are seen fine in the Array bios setup and all disk lights green during boot.

As soon as windows starts to loads the Array 2 disk lights go red and cant be seen in windows 2016.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi,

Please check if your server is compatible with Windows 2016.

Consider updating any firmware available for your server and hard drives.

Thank You!

The Smart Array B110i controller is not compatible with drives larger than 2TB in RAID.

It's a product limitation.

This controller predates the introduction of 4TB disks by a bit.

Try to upgrade the last firmware of B110i, maybe they have solved it.
