PROLIANT DL380 G4 HDD Failing repeatedly

Hi All,

We just replaced a HDD which is in RAID 1 few days back, it recovered properly and was working fine. Suddenly it crashed again today.
As checked in eventvwr no specific issues reported between these 2 days. Can someone help what could be wrong?

It could be a bad hard drive, firmware issue, bad back plane. I would put in another hard drive. This time in another slot. Verify the drive and server are cooling properly. Check your power and UPS, poor power or a flaky UPS can drop power long enough to knock a drive off line and fail it. Start with another hard drive.

Hi,

U can check that issue by upgrading firmware which comes with firmware maintenance CD or download from HP web site (www.hp.com) and upgrading PSP (prolian support pack).

Cheers//
