RAID Configuration on Proliant DL380p Gen8 and Hard Disks

Hi all,

Two questions.

I have a  Proliant DL380p Gen8 server running on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Standard.

Q1) Is it possible to view the RAID configuration without restarting the server?

Q2) attached is the picture of the server. are you able to let me know what is the model number of the hard disks? I have to view RAID configuration before I can decide which hard disk to pull out. From the picture, the only details of the hard disk is 15K sas 146gb 653950. Not sure if those details are enough to order more hard disks.

Hi Josh,

You can check the raid configuration by loging into the SSA without restarting the server.  With the capacity of the disk, the part number of the drive is as below

653950-001: 146GB hot-plug dual-port SAS hard disk drive - 6Gb/sec transfer rate, 15,000 RPM, 2.5-inch small form factor (SFF), Enterprise, SmartDrive Carrier (SC) - Not for use in MSA products - For use with Gen8/Gen9 or newer
