RAM capacity vs. speed trade-off
I discovered the HPE online memory configuration tool.
https://memoryconfigurator.hpe.com/ddr4memoryconfig/home/legal
Pretty slick!
I noticed that increasing the overall RAM capacity of the server results in increasingly slower RAM speeds. Small configurations start at 1866 MHz but topping up to the full 768 GB gives a slow 1066 MHz speed.
Is the drop in memory speed that noticeable in day to day operations? Or, is the drop in speed made up by larger, more efficient block transfer sizes?
What is the sweet spot here?
Boris

Re: RAM capacity vs. speed trade-off
It is by design the maximum limitation per channel for a fully populated Memory modules in a server.
Please refer to the qucikspecs of the specific server model for more information.
Thank you

Re: RAM capacity vs. speed trade-off
Since there is no specific model number of the server shared, request to search the support site using the server model name for a complete information about any HPE product

I hope the provided solution has helped you resolve the issue.
Kindly let me know if you have further queries or the status.
