I have Proliant DL380p Gen 8 server running.
It has 256 GB RAM. It uses HP part number 647653-081 , total 16. Now I need to extend another 64 GB in it.
I have below RAM parts with me:
5 * 16GB 2R*4 PC3L-12800-11-13-E2 HMT42GR7AFR4A-PB T8 AH 1439
4 * 16GB 2R*4 PC3-12800-11-12-E2-P2 M393B2G70QH0-CK0Q9 M 1517
Can I use any of above to my requirement without any performance issues? (or) do I need to go for same HP part?
Thank you for your inputs

SolutionHi Praveen,
Good Day!
The spare part number(647653-081) is a HP 16GB (1x16GB) Dual Rank x4 PC3L-10600R (DDR3-1333) Registered CAS-9 Low Voltage Memory Kit.
The memory used in the server is DDR3- 1333mhz, The memory which you have as a spare is of DDR3-1600mhz. Which is not compatible when the 1333mhz is currently installed.
Below attached HPE memory configurator for reference.
https://memoryconfigurator.hpe.com/MemoryTool/Home/ConfigurationOptions
Attcahed snap shot of the Server memory positions for Spare part number 647653-081
Conclusion.
You will have to use the same HPE part which is installed in the server.(647653-081)
Why : Two different types of frequency memory modules cannot be installed in the server.
