Smart Array 641 - Slow Performance - RAID5 - SCO 5.0.7
Using "latest" ciss driver 5.64a.
Adapter F/W 2.26
"Latest" BIOS (9/15/04)
System is ML350 with 3-drive RAID-5.
Write speed is 1.5 MB/sec
Read speed is >40 MB/sec
System frequently "hangs" for 15-30 seconds for ALL users during heavy disk writes.
Integrating 2 nearly identical systems. Both have same problem.
If the RAID is configured as RAID-1, write speed improves about 3x, but the "hang" problem never occurs!

2 kids is enough, 5 is too many

Re: Smart Array 641 - Slow Performance - RAID5 - SCO 5.0.7
I have problem with RAID 5.
It is realy slow on writing.
Did you install lastest SCO patches.
Use RAID 1 if you need write preformace.
