Smart Array P840 - disk physical location change

Hello,

After a physical disk replacement (at the same place) I noticed that the disk location changed.

it was 1I:1:66,
it became 2I:1:64

is it an expected behavior?

Is there an option to keep the same path when replacing a disk?

Greetings!

I see that the drive bay number and the port number has changed.

This is quite unusual and not an expected behavior.

Please verify/confirm if the drive was replaced on the correct bay.

Was there any change in cable connectivity because I see that the port number has also changed.

I would advise you to collect the AHS and the ADU logs and log a case on the support portal for further investigation.

Steps to generate the Active Health System log https://techlibrary.hpe.com/docs/iss/shared/troubleshoot/151005.htm

Command to generate ADU report: hpssacli ctrl all diag file=/tmp/ADUReport.zip
