Temperature Spike in HP racks
This is one for all you techies out there.
We have just placed some temperature monitors at varies places in our computer room. 2 of those monitors are located in HP racks containing HP BL20p G4 blades and a rather empty rack containing a single active DL380 G5. Both monitors show a temperature spike at the same time every 8 hrs for approx 1 hr, then the temperature comes back to normal as in the rest of the room. The other sensors in the room show no change.
The fact that this happens every 8 hrs would seem to imply that this could be caused by HP insight agents or HP SIM, testing the thermal sensors on the servers ( just a guess). Whilst this is not seen as a problem, it would be nice to confirm one way or another.
Regards to all

Re: Temperature Spike in HP racks
It sounds to me like you have external sensors (so outside server, not connected to the servers at all). Are the ones in the server getting warm too?
