Upgraded My Hard drives But I don't see all the space i should have
Hello all,
i just upgraded my 3 Hard drives to 146GB, ive replaced them one by one so they can rebuild them self afterwards i extended the free space when extending the free space i choose for the max free space available and use diskpart to use the unallocated space.
now my problem is 3x146=438GB but i only get 275GB in total( C and D drive i have 1 volume) what happend to the rest of the space? how can i get the other space that i am not seeing?
My Acu is not giving me any error i have 0 failed phicycal disk and the status of all 3 drive is OK, i am using raid 5
My server is a ML350 G4 with 641 array controler with only 64MB with latest firmware and psp (version 8)
some help would be great
thank you

Re: Upgraded My Hard drives But I don't see all the space i should have
hi
Some info First:
RAID 5 requires minimum 3 HDDs.
Total Space equal to:
(total HDDs space) - (1 HDDs space)
so it would be
438 GB - 146GB = 292 GB
parity and data will be distributed across all HDDs and 1 HDD can fail and your RAID 5 will be up and running fine
