I have a ProLiant DL380 G4 with a 128MB BBWC. We bought a new 512MB upgrade, part num 372538-B21, and it got delivered today.
The controller I plan to upgrade is a Smart Array 6400.
Where can I get instructions on how to do this upgrade? Do I simply shut the server off, pull the old one out, and install this one? Is there any chance of data or raid configuration loss when performing this type of upgrade?
Thanks.

hi,
fitting instructions here :-
http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00574146/c00574146.pdf
close all applications and power down the server, this will flush the cache, then replace as per instructions. it is advisable to always take a backup just in case , although there should be no issues caused by this procedure.
