What do I need to buy in order to download firmware for a DL20 Gen9?

Hello, I'm new here.

What do I need to buy in order to download firmware for a DL20 Gen9? I have a feeling that a BIOS update will enable me to use Xeon V6 CPU's.

Thanks!

Just register the serial number of your server in your passport profile as long as there is waranty and download the BIOS.

According to the quickspec only v5 CPUs are supported.

Hope this helps!

That's the thing, I bought my server off of Ebay so I doubt it has a warrenty. I will check though, thanks!

Well it does show that it has warrenty left on it, but I can't seem to add it to my account :(

The server migth still be registered by the original owner - you could ask your vendor if he can provide the firmware and/or ask the original owner to unregister the server on his account.
