Boot Proliant DL-380 G5 with only 1GB of memory ?

Hi,

Is that possible to boot DL-380 G5 with only one GB of memory?

Removing one of them prevents the server from booting-up. Any idea how to bypass this?

Thanks,
Regards,

Daivil

For A Windows OS, I usually edit the c:\boot.ini and add the /maxmen switch to limit system memory. Check here for the full reference: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/information/bootini.mspx

Please remember that mistakes in the boot.ini can render a system unbootable.

I think DIMM's need to be installed in pairs in the DL380 G5. Please consult the sticker on the top lid of the chassis.
