Correct stripe size Raid 5 for Citrix XenServer

Hi everybody!
I'm in evaluating an virtualization platform based on a DL360 G5 with P400i Smart Array Controller with six disks attached. I will configure the six disk as raid 5 for XenServer storage, the XenServer itself boots from the HP USB-stick.
What is the best stripe size in the Array configuration for that scenario?
Any help is appriciated.
Thanks a lot.
Sincerely Stefan

Re: Correct stripe size Raid 5 for Citrix XenServer

First there is no thumb rule in calculating the strip size.

1) The bigger the size better the performance

2) Smalle the size, better disk space usage.

3) The default value around 256 is best opted.

4) If its a database try reducing a bit may be upto 128 not below, else spend months in studuing your DB's Disk IO process.

5) File / network share / XenServer Storage Always opt default.
