DL585 gets PCI hardware error RHEL5.1 Nic NC7170 and ...
I just been handed a DL585 with three
HP NC7170 NICs which are Intel e1000 based.
The person who installed RH etc quit Thursday.
The O/S is RHEL 5.1
It has 3 NC7170 Dual NICs, and 4 QLogic
Dual FC HBAs.
When the server is powered up, and if a live
network cable is attached to one of the NC7170
interfaces, the server will hang. The hardware
status lights for the PCI SLOT error light for
the slot the NIC is in, and for the other slot
on the same bus will go on. I've confirmed this
in slot 7, 2, and 1.
I hope there's a know issue ...
