G8 Microserver - Is it possible to utilise the B120i for ESXi installation to USB?

I'm having continual problems trying to install ESXi 5.5 onto a USB drive on this new machine.

Question: Is it possible to utilise an array while using ESXi?

Question: If it is NOT possible, what SATA setting should I use to allow me to install to internal USB drive?

Thanks, T

The internal disk controller regardless of mode (AHCI or B120i) has no effect on using a USB device as the boot device. I'm not sure if there is an ESX version of the hpvsa driver needed for the B120i, so if you plan on storing virtual machines on disk, you will probably need to set the controller to AHCI mode.
