Getting info about a system with only the S/N

I have a Serial number in our database and it appears to be a DL380 server but we can't physically find the server. Is there any way to get more info about this system so I can track it down? I'd be interested in purchase and warranty information and especially the P/N because then I could get the other info via this page.

What's the serial number? It is 10 characters? or more? or less?

For 10 digits Serial number you need to have Part Number
12 Character you can decode normally unless incorrect S/N
Where is server right now in the rack or decommissioned?
How did you get S/N, from notes or Insight Manager?
If IM launch ACU and all hard drives will flash for you - walk around the racks and find it.
Or
Calls 1-800-474-6836 check if technical support can assist you with S/N, to find part number and Generation info.
After just drop Part number at Hp.com search field and it will return all details about it.

The serial number was in our inventory list and was 12 cahracters. It showed nothing when I entered it. I'm assuming it's bogus.
