HP PoLiant ML330 G3
We were shipped a this server from a customer of ours which we are to install some applications on. I have a problem though is that the server will not start.
When you push the power button the CPU fans start and run for approximately .5-1 sec and then stop. The server then sits there with the green power led on but thats it. Looking at all the diagnostic leds on the motherboard I see none which are lit exept for the green power led.
Any suggestions...
This is my first HP server and we are not off to a good start.
Cheers
Colin

Re: HP PoLiant ML330 G3
Colin:
Does the server give you any screen response (do you get video?) If you get no text/images does it even flicker?
Does the server Beep at POST?
Make sure everything is firmly seated in the server...
Make sure the Processor(s) are firmly seated in their brackets and the heatsink fans turn on when powered. (you will have to remove the air baffle to see them...)
Make sure all the DIMMs are seated... and that they are populated in sequential order (1,2,3,4)
Make sure the power supply fan is turning...
Make sure the PCI cards (if any) are seated firmly in their sockets...
Finally, look for loose parts (screws, etc...)
