Network teaming

I have a DL320 as my exchange server. Its 40gb of data (exchange and system) takes 9 hours to back up across the network. For one reason or another I am unable to install a SCSI card in the server to support a local tape drive and need to improve the backup speed. I have 3gb RAM and am using the /3g switch on Exchange. Can I improve performance by adding a 1gb speed card to the backup server and the exchange server? Alternatively does Network card "Teaming" offer any prospective network improvement over a single card?
