Proliant 1600 - Smart 2DH with Raid 5 - hard drive issue
I have a proliant 1600 with an internal SCSI controller with one hard drive set up as the primary boot controller. I have Novell 6.0 running with the SYS volume on this device.
I have a Smart 2DH controller that is configured as the secondary controller with 6 drives in a RAID 5 array. One drive went bad. I took the drive out and replaced it. It finally tried to do a rebuild but failed with what looks like to me a bad sector type error. I am wondering if I needed to format the SCSI drive that I put in there somehow. I have tried loading the SmartStart System Utilities but find no way to check the drives or format them. It just allows me to look at the array, which keeps trying to rebuild and fail. Any suggestions?
