Proliant dl 380 g3 Raid board
I've got a proliant dl380g3 which is giving me some issues. Two out of the 4 drives I have in one array went amber on me yesterday. When I restarted, they worked, but did the same thing about 4 hours later. Now the server is currently running chkdsk.
When I did get the server up, the event viewer said the array controller was bad. But I did a diagnostic check and everything checked out.
SO, if the Smartarray 5i is on it's way out, I have a question. Can I simply get another controller (a better one) and put it in a pci slot? It's my understanding that teh Smartarray 5i is part of the system board.
