Proliant DL380 G4

I accidently ran my Proliant DL380 G4 for about three minutes with the cover off and now it will not post. Is is fried or is there some procedure to get it back up? Shouldn't there be some kind of thermal protection on this system?

Thanks, hope someone can help...

Re: Proliant DL380 G4

There is protection and after cooling down it should be back as normal - enable switch position #6 between CPU 2 and smaller heatsink keep for 2 minutes with server on, power down pull power cable press power switch for 5-7 second and hold , reconnect cable, move switch back to off try to power up

Keep cover closed ;)

Re: Proliant DL380 G4

Still having problems posting, tried the last suggestion multiple times, no joy.

The server powers on, all indicators are green or off (good). Not sure what the problem is. Is the procedure descibed in the last post documented somewhere?

Thanks again
