Proliant ML350 G3 problems after installing USB 2.0 PCI card
I am running Windows Server 2003.
We have recently installed a PCI/USB 2.0 card on the server to use with a USB removable harddisk (used for backups). This has been causing the Server to shut down frequently on its own.
- Is this a problem with the card or the Server?
- Is this server compatible with USB 2.0 ???

Re: Proliant ML350 G3 problems after installing USB 2.0 PCI card
Did you disable the onboard USB1.1-port ??
I had problems with blue screens on start-up
after installing a USB2.0-PCI-card.
They vanished after disabling the onboard port in the BIOS.

Re: Proliant ML350 G3 problems after installing USB 2.0 PCI card
By the proliants the USB Drives are not supported.
I am afraid that the USB ports are ment only for mouse and/or keyboard.
You may also wish to try backup on tapes. ;)
Best regards
