Questions about extending a volume. MSA1000 / Windows 2000 server

The info:

MSA 1000
current logical volume 3x146gb drives (300gb spare) in raid 5. Running low on diskspace, so I added 2x146gb drives to the MSA and expanded that logical volume. The acu now reports it as 580gb.

When I go into windows, it's still showing that 280gb is all the space on that volume (it doesn't show me any "free" space). I've tried rescanning disks to no avail. Is there something stupidly simple I'm missing?
