RAID 5 Impossible on hp proliant DL380 G5
Hi All,
I had an issue when I was trying to create RAID 5 on hp prolian DL380 G5.
The only RAID option available was RAID 0 with 3 hard drives (142GB x 3).
I followed the best practices but it couldn't just work.
Help me out.

Re: RAID 5 Impossible on hp proliant DL380 G5
I don't know this exact model, but HP does not always include a RAID-5 compatible card with all the parts in their servers. I have seen this problem in ML350 models and have had to order the parts needed for RAID 5. I suggest you talk to your HP sales support for what is needed in this model.

Re: RAID 5 Impossible on hp proliant DL380 G5
Hello Sulaiman:
According to http://tinyurl.com/2p9lkt
the DL380 G5 comes with either a Smart Array E200 Controller OR a Smart Array P400 Controller. Only the P400 supports RAID5. I hope this helps.
Make a great 2008!
Roger

Re: RAID 5 Impossible on hp proliant DL380 G5
U probably have DL380 G5 wiv Smart Array E200 64 Mo.
If so, try upgrade to 128Mo (R??f. 351580-B21
)
This should do the trick.
