Replacing bad Hard Drive

I have had one of my mirror drives go down luckly it was mirrored so I have not lost any data. I Shut down the server (ML370) and took out the old one. Can I just pop the new one in or do I have to do anything with the raid controller to set it back up as mirror 1?

Re: Replacing bad Hard Drive

You're saying it was in a RAID1 Array using one of the SmartArray series of controller, right?

Then, yea. Just pop the new one in, and it should automatically rebuild.

The ML370 comes with a Hot-Swap back-plane, so you didn't even need to power the server down.

Ok I put it in just like you said. It looks like it is working. Is there a way to double check. Make sure everything is alright.

Re: Replacing bad Hard Drive

Do you have the RAID tools installed into the OS? (ACU/ACU-XE. It's part of the Support pack, and should be available for most OS').
