Serial port on DL140

I am trying to use the serial port on a DL140 with Windows 2003 server but i am not able to set up a correct configuration as all the IRQ's seem to be in use.

Is there an updated driver or something I need and if so where is it?

Thanks,
Jon

Windows 2003 will automatically assign IRQ's and you do not need to assign them manually. Can you see the serial port in the device manager?

Re: Serial port on DL140

I also am having problems with the serial port on the DL140 with Windows Server 2003 as there are no serial ports in the Device Managers lists and when I try to add a com port it adds com3 and when I try to change it to com1 it says it's in use.

All info gladly received

Re: Serial port on DL140

I fixed it by disabling the serial port in the bios. Then it magically showed up and is working. Unfortunatly it was the last thing I tried (actually disabled it because we got fed up and were installing a com card and viola).

Re: Serial port on DL140

Disabled in BIOS.
Reboot into Windows.
Removed spurious entry from Device manager.
Scan for new Hardware and hey presto.

Works great, ended up as com2 but it doesn't really matter for what I'm doing.
