By default if you have a BSOD the server will reboot.
Now, like I had, if you have a BSOD at shutdown you will not see the BSOD but the server will reboot.
Therefore you could try to see if you have a BSOD when shutting down by disabling the 'reboot at bsod' function.
Now at shutdown the server will BSOD or show other symptoms but not reboot.

correct. however, once again, this is *not* a bsod at shutdown.

By switching off the "Automatically Restart" option, you will notice the server reboots instead of shutting down because the server actually BSOD.
If you used SmartStart 7.8 try upgrade the server NIC Driver "HP NC-Series Multifunction Driver" to the latest version 3.4.10.0, the problem should be resolved.
