Server2003 on DL360R1
We have a Proliant DL360 first generation. We want to do a clean install of Server 2003. Using the SmartStart software that came with the server 2003 is not a choice. The newer versions (7.0 +)of SmartStart do not support generation 1. I have updated the system BIOS to P21 (11/15/2002). This versions says it adds support for Server2003.
So I guess what I need is a path for installation. Current the server is clean.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Server2003 on DL360R1
Mark:
Grab the latest Smart Array driver and place it on a floppy. Boot the server with the Windows CD and when prompted, press F6 to supply the newer SA driver. Let the installl continue. When complete, install the latest PSP, 7.40A I believe is available.
Make sure you configure your RAID array and Logical Disk first. You should be able to use the Smart Start CD for that, or perhaps the bios utility, if available.

With G1 use 5.5:

Installation steps would be close identical to
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/bizsupport/questionanswer.do?threadId=962743
If smart Array Controller Firmware 1.50 you should have F8 option also W2K3 Driver for Smart Array Controller build-in (you do not need F6).
