Smart Array 5i RAID questions

We have 6 72gb HD's set up as a raid5 on a Proliant DL380 G3 with Smart Array 5i. One of them failed, and we are going to have to buy a new HD. Would there be any use in buying a HD that is larger than 72gb?

Essentially, if we bought a 300gb HD, would the 232gb that is not used by the raid5 be available for creating other logical drives?

Peter:

Unless you plan on eventually replacing ALL the drives with the larger size, you will not be able to use the additional space at all. All the drives need to be the same size otherwise the usable size of each drive is only the size of the smallest capacity drive in the array.
