Using SA-5304 in non-Compaq PC
Since there is a Win2K driver I assume so but can I run ACU (GUI) and ADU?
What about SNMP alerts?

So, are you using ACU/ADU? Are you getting event log entries?

It's not an important box so i never check the event log. How important can a home machine be?

Re: Using SA-5304 in non-Compaq PC
I'm using a DL380 G2 right now and it's in the closet to cut down on noise. Still it gets pretty warm in there and opening the door introduces noise. I went with this setup to use RAID6 with 6x72GB's. Plus the SA5304 is the cheapest RAID6 out there.
Been having STOP errors randomly so I'm thinking switching over to a Gateway P4 3GHz PC and an external RAID box. The Gateway is plenty fast for Win2K and it's dead quiet. The RAID box will go in the closet.
However, without SNMP alerts as to the RAID status how smart is this? Sure, with RAID6 two drives can go down but I at least want to know when that happens!
So,
