I found that the Product features of ProLiand Microserver Gen10 shows Maximum internalstorage:NHP 16TB (4 x 4TB) 3.5" SATA? I want to know why the limit is 16TB? Is the reason of Embedded Storage Controller Marvell 88SE9230 PCIe to SATA 6Gb/s Controller or other reasons?
If I want to install 16TB (2 x 8TB) 3.5" SATA Hard Drivers into the server, what will happen?
If I want to install one 12TB 3.5" SATA Driver into the server, what will happen?
Is the HPE Smart Array E208i-p SR Gen10 controller a option kit, not a ship standard ?

SolutionHello
The best way to verify what is supported in particular server model is Quick Specs:
http://h20195.www2.hpe.com/v2/redirect.aspx?/products/quickspecs/15950_div/15950_div.PDF
In section HPE Hard Drives you can check what could be istalled and functionall properly in Microserver Gen10;
The biggest hard drive in this days is 4TB;
HPE 4TB SATA 6G Midline 7.2K LFF (3.5in) RW 1yr Wty HDD 801888-B21;
HPE cannot give any recommendation for unsupported options;
According to Quick Specs you can install Essential HPE Smart Array RAID Controller:
HPE Smart Array E208i-p SR Gen10 (8 Internal Lanes/No Cache) 12G SAS PCIe Plug-in Controller 804394-B21
