HPE P840 Smart Array battery, is it possible...?
I have a P840 Smart Array in a non proliant server, have had it for a while and I love it but I don't have a battery connected directly to the card. It looks like from the cable on the card and the battery assembly that the battery plugs into the proliant motherboard and the card also plugs into the proliant motherboard, instead of the two directly connecting. Is that the case? Or do they make the connection on some kind of daughterboard? I am looking for a way to rig it up to enable battery backed P840 on a non proliant server, any info will be appreciated. I assume it's probably not possible but if there was even a small chance it is worth asking. Any and all info will be appreciated, thanks!
