HP Driver for Smart Array 320i causes BSOD with Server 2012 R2 RTM

I have two DL360e G8 Servers (part number 686212-s01) that use the onboard 320i array controller.

System BIOS version P73 July 1, 2013.

320i BIOS version v3.54.0

I am installing Server 2012 R2 RTM Standard from a thumb drive that has been used for several other installs sucessfully.

I am using HP ProLiant Dynamic Smart Array RAID Controller Driver for Windows 2012 x64 Editions (62.6.2.64 (10 Sep 2013)) which is the latest available on the HP site.

I have attempted the install now several times (8 times) and it always fails at the same point.  As soon as i load the HP array driver the server goes to the new friendly BSOD and then reboots.   I have confirmed this on both identical servers.  One has HP SSD drives and one has HP SATA disks.    Both are using a mirror setup for the disk (RAID 1).

This setup worked fine with Server 2012.   It does not work with 2012 R2.

Somebody at HP needs to look into this right away as the official release date for R2 to Volume license customers is tomorrow (10-18-2013).

Has anyone else had this problem also?
